Despite the cheesy and self-indulgent name of this book it contains plenty of simple and wholesome wisdom. Plus, it’s free! Worth a read for sure.

Poetry has never been for me (perhaps because we were force-fed it at school and told we were ignorant if we didn’t enjoy it), but this is fantastic.

After dozens of recommendations I finally downloaded this book on my Kindle tonight. It’s the best book on writing fiction I’ve ever read, and is comparable to other brilliant books that take a more universal approach to creativity like The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles.

James Sturm is having a four month break from the internet:

Whether it’s a sports score, a book I want to get my hands on, or tuning into Fresh Air anytime of day, I can no longer search online and find immediate satisfaction…I thought this would drive me crazy, but it hasn’t. Anticipation itself is enjoyable and perhaps even mitigates disappointing results.

As much as I love the Internet, I crave disconnection. One day I will have it.
